The Department of Pediatrics is committed to recruiting and training students as physicians and biomedical scientists who can provide high quality, comprehensive health care to the medically underserved.
Message From the Chairman
The philosophy of the Department of Pediatrics is to make a positive impact on the overall well being of newborns, infants, children and young adults on a local and national level through educational, clinical and research programs.
MSM has affiliation agreements with some of Georgia’s most prestigious hospitals and research institutes, essential partners that provide clinical care and training.
The Community Pediatric Residency Program is designed to keep pace with a changing medical climate. In addition to traditional hospital-based learning, a significant portion of the resident's training will be community-focused.
MSM Pediatrics faculty are involved in all four years of the M.D. education program. The student curriculum teaches students important elements of child development, health and medical care.
The Department of Pediatrics includes three divisions: general pediatrics, community programs, and research.
