Healthy Heart Coalition Honors MSM's Prevention Research Center and Comprehensive Family Healthcare Center

Dr. Tabia Henry Akintobi, Morehouse School of Medicine's (MSM) Prevention Research Center Principal Investigator and Associate Dean for Community Engagement, and Dr. Michelle Nichols, Medical Director for Comprehensive Family Healthcare Center, Vice Chair in Family Medicine, and Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, were among the Community Health Champion honorees of the Health Promotion Action Coalition’s Healthy Heart Coalition in recognition for their outstanding leadership and support of heart health.

Dr. Henry Akintobi has been a long-time supporter of the work of the coalition, supporting cardiovascular health initiatives of the coalition through a seed grant, evaluation technical assistance, serving as a featured national presenter and empowering students and cardiovascular health leaders of Eagles Landing Middle School.

Dr. Nichols has been an advocate, guest speaker, and presenter in collaboration with the coalition. Her support of Project-Based Service Learning in secondary education was celebrated, through which she actively involves MSM students and residents to engage middle school students in research and presentations about healthy eating, healthy living, and preventive health.
